Im a strong believer that being active is key to living a happy and healthy life. As soon as the New Year kicked in, I was determined to change my lifestyle, become more active and try new ways to get fit.

After a long day at work, its dark, cold, the sofa calls and dragging yourself to the gym can be difficult. Through research, recommendations and a free 2-week trial, I found a fitness app that I quite quickly became obsessed with. With a mission to motivate, inspire and connect people to soul-nurturing experiences, ClassPass is made up of unique classes, expert instructors and inspiring studios. From TriYoga to SoulCycle (and everything in between) the app offers available workout classes all over London.

Forget aimlessly running on a treadmill, or staring at the weights section in confusion, 1Rebel put my usual workout routine to shame.

The high-intensity class lasts for 45 minutes and takes place on the lower floor of a large warehouse-like studio. Dim lighting, house music and disco lights, it's like stepping into an underground basement club. Youre assigned to your own workout station with dumbbells, resistant bands and a treadmill.

You spend 4-minute stints doing squats, chest presses and other killer moves before jumping onto the treadmill for another 4-minutes to do interval sprints, upping gradients and burn factor each time. Leave feeling challenged, exhausted yet filled with adrenaline.

So, what’s next?

Its almost worth the workout just to make the most of the changing rooms. Copper piping, industrial breeze-block walls and exposed bulbs. A smeg fridge is the first thing that greets you, packed with ice cold towels smothered in Aromatherapy Associates oils to cool-off with. The benches are heated, the showers stocked with high end products, and the dreamy dressing tables with endless beauty products and blow-drying facilities.

To refuel, head upstairs to the Roots & Bulbs on site bar for protein snacks, cold pressed juices and superfood smoothies. On Friday evening they even offer free prosecco. Its about balance, right?
